Lyrics

You gotta wake up now and sing, brother
Wake up now and sing
You gotta wake up now and sing, dear sister
Wake up now and sing
You gotta wake up now and sing, sweet children
Wake up now and sing
You gotta wake up now and sing
Before the lights go out

Before the lights go out, brother
Lights go out
Before the lights go out, dear sister
That’s what we’re about
You got a glass half empty people
Pour it out!
You can choose whatcha bring
When you wake up now and sing

Teaching Notes

This unison song is pretty simple to teach and can be taught with the first verse only for for even faster learning. This is a good song to bring in clapping, drums or other rhythmic support to keep the fast tempo moving.

Thanks for posting this song, inspired by my dear departed brother, Buzz. It was a real treat to develop it with you, Lisa! A blessing!
