A Note About the Song from Josh:
I wrote this song this spring inspired by a prayer in the Kohenet Hebrew Priestess Institute prayer book, “Min HaMetzar.” It came at a time when I was personally experiencing so much contraction and constriction, and when the world at large seemed to be in a collective time of “narrowness” as we were a few months into pandemic quarantine.
How Is this Song Creating the World We Want?
The world I want to see is one where we can be honest about how we’re feeling – whether it’s joyful or small and afraid – and ask for help. And in that asking, including a humbling to the awesome beauty of the natural world we are a part of, find resource, expansion, and strength. It speaks, too, to a world of moving out of this collective contraction/constriction and into one of great expansion, openness, freedom, and celebration.
