Lyrics

Men: I’m gonna cross this holy river (x3) May on the other side be our voice

I’m gonna climb this holy mountain (x3) May on the other side be our voice
I’m gonna feed this holy fire (x3) May on the other side be our voice
I’m gonna pray for the holy people (x3) May on the other side be our voice

Women: Gotta go, gotta go, gotta keep movin’ on (x2)
Cross that river, keep movin’ on, Climb that mountain, keep movin’ on
All: Keep movin’ on (x8)
Cross that river – keep movin’ on
Climb that mountain – keep movin’ on
Feed that fire – keep movin’ on
Pray for the people – keep movin’ on
Keep movin’ on (x3)   May on the other side be our voice
Men: Gotta go, gotta go, gotta keep movin’ on (x10)
Women: I’m gonna cross this holy river
I’m gonna climb this holy mountain
I’m gonna feed this holy fire
I’m gonna pray for the holy people
All: May on the other side be our voice

Women: And on the other side of the river
And on the other side of the mountain
I’m gonna pray, I’m gonna pray, I’m gonna pray with my voice
And as I feed the holy fire, and as I stand beside the people
I’m gonna pray, I’m gonna pray, I’m gonna pray with my voice
Pray with my voice

All: I’m gonna sing with the holy spirit (x3)
May on the other side be our voice

Teaching Notes

This song is dependent upon the guitar part and has a few different sections and tricky transitions, making this particular arrangement suitable only for a chorus or ongoing group. It can be scaled down and simplified for a more singalong style. My singers find this a joy to sing!
