Revival

This song is a hootenanny of joy. Lydia Violet crafted this instant-hit, upbeat, easy-to-join-in singalong and even threw in a great little Jungle Book reprise in the middle.

Lyrics

I’m gonna lead with peace, today, yeah!
I’m gonna lead with peace, today
I’m gonna lead with peace, today, and see it rise
I’m gonna get down to the river
I’m gonna take up the revival
I’m gonna lead with peace, lead with peace, today

I’m gonna walk my blues away, yeah!
I’m gonna walk my blues away
I’m gonna walk my blues away and see ’em rise
I’m gonna get down to the river
I’m gonna take up the revival
I’m gonna walk my blues, walk my blues away

I’m gonna sing my love today, yeah
I’m gonna sing my love today
I’m gonna sing my love today and see it rise
I’m gonna get down to the river
I’m gonna take up the revival
I’m gonna sing my love, sing my love, today

Bridge, from The Jungle Book:
Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
Old Mother Nature’s recipes
That brings the bare necessities of life

Thank you! To my knowledge, no, however, please feel free to reach out to the artist directly and request. LOVE!

  • This is a simple, rocking zipper song. Quick to teach, really gets the energy up. My new favorite! Zipper 3 syllables: “I’m gonna blah blah blah today, yeah!” etc through the verse and the chorus, too.

Easy walk down part can be added in the chorus “I’m gonna AH, AH, AH, AH”
Fun bridge from Jungle Book’s “Bare Necessities”–Same chord progression

It’s great acapella, but if you wanna Instrumental: Basic I, IV, V pattern. Her recording is in B (Can play in A capo-ed to 2nd fret). I like to play it in C.
