Most Beautiful Sky

This gorgeous, one-line song from Jennifer Levenhagen defies easy categorization and is given rich depth with Annie Zylstra’s polyphonic arrangement. Wholehearted Chorus has found this to be evocative and wonderful, and a surprising challenge to sing.

Most beautiful sky
I see how you change each day
and each day remain.

Teaching Notes

Wholehearted Chorus used this song as a rich and evocative season opener. Great for offering a simple part (humming drone) for beginner singers and non-English speakers. The melody is very short but takes a little time for most to learn how the words fall on the notes, and high harmony is surprisingly challenging to learn as it moves outside the traditional western scale.

Oh my Goddess, I love this song – such depth and beauty, like the sky – and so beautifully sung here.
