I Can See Clearly Now

An essential, upbeat singalong. The bridge of the song offers a challenging 3-part harmony interest and is otherwise is easy to learn. In this arrangement the melody is in the middle voice.

Lyrics

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

I think I can make it now, the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is the rainbow I’ve been praying’ for
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

Look all around, there’s nothing’ but blue skies
Look straight ahead, nothing’ but blue skies

Why Am I having such trouble with the progression on the second phrase – ‘nothing but blue SKYYYYYY” Ugh. It scares me. I’ve gotten it before but am now picking this tune back up after not singing it in a year and here we are again with this weird but beautiful “skyyy” Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I’m winging all of this btw. I’m singing with a lone guitarist and not even sure what key we are in. :/ Sorry of I’m wasting your time
