A Note About the Song from Shireen:

As the prolonged social isolation and physical constraint from the outside world has set in along with this wild pandemic experience, I found myself coming up with a mantra while on a run (far from other people, of course) to recall the freedom I still have, that I must tap into, in my body and a kind of strength knowing I can still find freedom in smaller parameters.

“I am free in my body…nothing can take that away from me”

And as I considered some of the stress bringing out not-the-best in me, I needed a reminder that within the boundaries of this body, in spite of all this, I am love at my core. No less.

“I am love in my body…nothing can take that away from me”

And last but not least, to quell the fear of my health being overtaken by this virus, as I’m sure many others are fearing, I needed a reminder that this body holds a great reserve of wellness and a capacity to be resilient (good thoughts boost the immune system, no?). And perhaps, even if faced with a threat, my body would be a strong contender.

“I am strong in my body…nothing can take that away from me”

How is this Song Creating the World We Want?

This song embodies how I want to feel in my own body which will empower my presence and my actions in the world to express my values and contribute my gifts. I would love to live in a world that is full of people who feel freedom, safety, and love from within.
