Children Go Where I Send Thee

We get a little gospel on for Christmas with this one. It's easy to teach quickly and always a favorite. Adding more harmonies is always encouraged. This song has a soloist caller and the chorus responds. The low harmony part actually only has two notes that vary from the melody (on the second "born" in the chorus), but they can take a little practice to find.

Call: Children go where I send thee:
Response: How shall I send thee?

Call: Well, I’m gonna send thee one by one
Response:
One for the little bitty baby
Who was born, born, born in Bethlehem.
Said he was born, born, born in Bethlehem.

Call: Children go where I send thee:

Call: Hey, I’m gonna send thee two by two
Response:
Two for Paul and Silas
One for the itty bitty baby
Who was born, born, born in Bethlehem.
Said he was born, born, born in Bethlehem.

Call: Children go where I send thee:
Response: How shall I send thee?

Call: Hey, I’m gonna send thee three by three
Response:
Three for the Hebrew children
Two for Paul and Silas
One for the itty bitty baby
Who was born, born, born in Bethlehem.
Said he was born, born, born in Bethlehem.

Call: Children go where I send thee:
Response: How shall I send thee?

Call: Hey, I’m gonna send thee four by four
Response:
Four for the four that stood at the door
Three for the Hebrew children
Two for Paul and Silas
One for the itty bitty baby
Who was born, born, born in Bethlehem.
